My stories are often about a teen’s journey from isolation to integration. Making a friend and becoming a friend. Learning how to believe in yourself when things are really, really rough. These are journeys we all make over and over in our lives, and they always present an opportunity to grow.
I enjoy pushing the boundaries of reality because fantasy both frees the reader’s imagination and allows us to explore countless social and emotional scenarios in a pretty safe place: our mind. Besides that, it’s a lot of fun. I also write post-modern magical realism (a bit different than the original stuff) and contemporary queer romance.
